Principals of Presentation

Bro. Livinus Kelly Bro. Livinus Kelly (48-52)
One of the four founding members who arrived in 1947. A beautiful physical specimen of a man, he had an even bigger heart in that imposing frame of his. His love and appreciation of his students was quite evident, and his face always bore a friendly, cherubic smile so that no one was afraid to approach him. A humble man and a master builder, both literally and metaphorically speaking.99 He was an inspirational teacher of Geography and a specialist in Mathematics. He introduced a special stream that catered to the highly intelligent students and introduced the House System.
Bro. Liam Dromey Bro. Liam Dromey (52-53)
A slim and delicately built man. Somewhat retiring and quiet in his manner. He had the difficult task of holding the fort until the arrival of Brother Browne.
Bro. Bartholomew Browne Bro. Bartholomew Browne (53-56)
"Not very tall, but powerfully built is how he was described. He had the type of charismatic personality that made people believe in him, as well as in themselves, causing them to rise to levels that they had never thought possible. The good Brother personified leadership as exemplified by the football team 5 success under his coaching even though it is said that he " couldn't kick a lime". Inspirational English teacher and Spiritual Director he introduced the Legion of Mary to the College and was responsible for conceiving and constructing the New Block. A creative person who was not afraid to " dream dreams", or to walk untravelled roads, he sometimes left the less daring individual with a sense of unease and discomfort.
Bro. Macartan Sheehy Bro. Macartan Sheehy (56-57)
Tall and powerfully built with very bushy eyebrows and a big and kind heart. Cautious in his decisions but firm and very fair minded. Very meticulous with a quiet sense of humour. Possessed a shyness and was deeply religious.
Bro. Jerome Kelly Bro. Jerome Kelly (57-69)
"Indefatigable, awe-inspiring and inspirational,... with a driving force equal to that of 10 strong men", is how he was described. A superb athlete, he was demanding, but fair and would accept nothing but excellence. A disciplinarian, he believed that the "cane" had "its rightful place". In matters pertaining to discipline he preferred appealing to the student's "sense of loyalty and responsibility" rather than resorting to corporal punishment. The success of Presentation College under his administration has made him a legend. In keeping with his belief that education must aim at developing the whole person and at building character, he introduced a wide range of co-curricular activities and clubs of the College. It seemed that everything he touched turned to Gold.
Anselm O'Callaghan Anselm O'Callaghan (69-71)
One of the four pioneering Brothers, legendary chemistry master and a man of vision. Started the campaign to have Biology laboratories suitable for A level courses installed in the College. Forced to retire due to failing Health
Bro. Matthew Feheney Bro. Matthew Feheney (71-75)
"A highly interactive person with a strong sense of community", he served on several important educational bodies in the country. Under his leadership the College continued its successes both in academic and in co-curricular activities.
Bro. Michael Samuel Bro. Michael Samuel (75-Present)
First native born Principal. His "modesty, honesty and sincerity shine through him." The combination of honesty and sincerity are so "mixed in him" that, when the occasion demands it, he is not afraid to speak frankly and forthrightly. A true Renaissance man - Scout, Scout-Master, Footballer, Singer, Photographer, an avid Tennis player and the latest in the long line of great men / leaders who have held that prestigious office. His tenure saw the expansion of the College's Academic and Extra-curricular programme, with a de-emphasis on winning scholarships and a re-emphasis on the development of well rounded men and women of dignity. Introduced Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at the College Chapel.
