The student council was reformed and rejuvenated after four years. This organization is totally geared toward the student population and continues to act as a conduit for the student voice and opinion. As such, it forms an integral part of the student community and it is the Student Council that brings about the significant changes directed toward student comfort and entertainment. Major achievements of this council include:- Inter-Class football and basketball, incremental changes to the café, cleaning up of the school premises, confronting problems faced by the students and suggesting suitable solutions.
Over the years the Student Council has grown in size and has expanded to meet the needs of the younger forms. It has also grown in discipline with the introduction of a Constitution written by Bro. Michael in Jan 1993 meant to maintain the focus of the members.
This year the Council will be in liaison with the Junior Jaycees on some projects. The idea came from Bro. Michael in an attempt to further promote the Pres Spirit which has indeed played a pivotal role in the numerous successes of the college body on a whole.
Of the many goals set by the Student Council body the most challenging by far is the ongoing efforts to reach a compromise with the Pres Café. For years the service has left much to be desired and several attempts have been made in the past to amend this situation. It is our hope that we can come to some sort of common ground thereby eliminating any strife that exists within the college thus serving to better the Presentation community.
