NEW FACES ON STAFF

CYRIL COOMANSINGH

If this chap looks to you it is because he is a recent past student of PRES. Formerly of ASJA,"Squirrel" joined the PRES family in 1985 to do A-level Maths, Physics, Chemistry. A quiet individual, now spends his time lurking around the Physics lab, helping to improye our practical skills 'I wish him luck!)

He enjoys both cricket football and intends to study chemical engineering at U.W.I.

Mr. LARRY RAMKISSOON

The first of the line of nefarious Ramkissoon brothers to pass through PRES, Mr. Ramkissoon has returned to his alma mater as a teacher in two of PRES's less popular subjects in sixth form - Economics and General Paper.

He holds a degree in onomics from U.W.I. and in 1987 began a post-graduate program in International Relations. In the future he intends to earn his Doctorate, become a businessman, and possibly involve himself in lecturing and writing. A perfect example of the "well rounded" PRES past student, he is particularly interested in Latin America. He enjoys swimming, basketball and table tennis.

Essentially, he believes that not enough emphasis is placed on the Modern Studies group in sixth form; that disciplines such as Economics, and the careers they lead to - Business, Accounting and Law, are just as important as the Science subjects. He thinks that more self-discipline on the part of the students, and an encouraging of the better students to Modern Studies can guarantee even better academic results for PRES in years to come.

Mr. WILLIAM WKNGSON

One of the individuals we PRES students associate with discipline and a no-non-sense outlook. He started

University in Toronto ,Canada as a brother, but left the order before completing his degree: a major in statistics and a

minor in theology.

Although he has left the brotherhood, Mr. Wingson still feels welcome at Pres and believes that he won't feel as comfortable or "at home" teaching any other college.

He enjoys squash, "good music" and reading magazines.

As a past student he is very concerned about our institution. He believes that we should all cultivate self-discipline and maintain a high standard in all our endeavours - regardless of what happens outside or inside the school.

Ms. DENISE DUMAS

Miss Dumas is a past stunt of St. Peter's School, Pointe-a-Pierre and St Stephen's College, where she did A-level French and Spanish. Before joining PRES as the Library Assistant, this softspoken young lady worked at Central Bank for one year and then attended U.W.I., where he majored in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations with a minor in English. She proceeded to graduate with honours.

She is presently pursuing a three year Diploma in Management Studies. She intends to obtain her M.BA and to pursue a career in either banking or business management.

An avid reader, she also enjoys music (calypso, jazz, pop, reggae, anything!) and of course, movies.

Our first impressions of her - a marked increase in library attendance.

Her impressions - "Well, I never had much contact with PRES before and I thought PRES boys were studious, quiet (laughing). Now I think they're well balanced but should do more work, try harder, discipline themselves; we have a tradition to keep."
